The first ever St. Louis Missouri Horror Convention was hosted by Kit Builder magazine from October 24 to the 26 2008. It was hard to believe St. Louis never hosted a MonsterCon before this, as there are tons of horror fans in the StL locale. This one was worth waiting for as we had most of the original Night of the Living Dead cast, plus Adrienne Barbeau, Dee Wallace, Make up maestro Tom Savini, and TURA SATANA!!
Vendors had some cool model kits on display, but were reluctant to barter the prices down....my understanding is some dealers went home annoyed at losing money. But hey! Have you checked the news headlines lately? We're all broke! So if you're not willing to haggle, why bring your stuff?? Ahh well, I DID buy a couple of resin kits,but don't feel I got a great deal. Let's face it; with Adrienne Barbeau, Dee Wallace, and that gal from Ghoultown hang'n round,who's gonna look at model kits???
It was fun for all....wish I could've done more Saturday night....but "demon spirits" intervened. Gracias to Krista, Kristen and Charlie for looking after me, and apologies to the Hotel cleaning staff! At least I bounced back Sunday in time to see presentations by Ron Lizorty, Tura Satana, and Dee Wallece. Hope it all comes back next year!! Not the Vodka though....
